This dataset provides monthly and annual average sediment discharge data from hydrological stations in the Datong River Basin. It covers data from 4 hydrological stations in the basin during 1956–1990, including monthly average sediment discharge, annual average sediment discharge, annual total sediment load, annual sediment modulus, annual maximum daily average sediment discharge, and their respective occurrence times. The units are as follows: kg/s for monthly and annual average sediment discharge; 10⁴ t for annual total sediment load; t/km² for annual sediment modulus; and kg/s for annual maximum daily sediment discharge. This dataset was compiled and processed based on the comparison tables of monthly and annual average sediment discharge for each year extracted from the annual *Hydrological Data of the Yellow River Basin* published by the Hydrological Bureau of the Ministry of Water Resources of the People's Republic of China.
