ARTofMELT snow pits and SAR data
收藏资源简介:
Snow pit data and SAR imagery collected for the ARTofMELT expedition. The snow pit data consists of spreadsheets with measurements of salinity, density, temperature, hardness and grain type. Snow fork data was also collected at some sites. The SAR imagery is in the form of quicklooks. Lists with the full file identifiers are provided as well. Data description Data collected at the ice stations. The parent directory contains one folder for each ice station, as well as the folder info. info The info folder contains a spreadsheet with basic information about each ice station (coordinates, date, time, name), a spreadsheet with an overview of all the water isotope samples and an overview figure with the ice stations and the ship track displayed. Each ice station folders contains a document with basic information about the ice stations, a folder with photographs from the station and folders for all measurements made (i.e. snow_pits, GEM-2, magna probe etc.). These folders will be named according to what measurements they contain. The information file is structured as such: [ice_station_name].txt Name Location Date Duration Measurement snow_pits The snow_pits folder contains a folder for each snow pit made, as well as a folder containing photos. Each snow pit folder contains one spreadsheet for each snow pit dug at a station, a spreadsheet with the salinity measurements from the snow pit as well as from reference samples, a folder containing photos form the snow pit (typically a vertical profile, as well as grains from each layer under the lens), a plot of profiles from the snow pit and, if made, snow fork measurements from the snow pit (original text file and spreadsheet). The snow pit spreadsheets are named as such: [ice_station]_snow_pit_[X].xlsx, where X is the number/ID given to a snow pit at a station. A separate spreadsheet for the salinity measurements is provided as well, to evaluate calibration drift. These spreadsheets are named as such: [ice_station]_snow_pit_[X]_salinity.xlsx. If snow fork measurements were made for a snow pit, a copy of the original file as well as a spreadsheet with a selection of the measurements is provided. The original file is named as [ice_station]_snow_pit_[X]_snow_fork.txt. The snow fork spreadsheet is named as [ice_station]_snow_pit_[X]_snow_fork.xlsx. photos The photos folder contains photographs taken at an ice station, or during transport to and from the ice station (for helicopter based ice stations). The snow pit profile figure contains temperature, density, grain size and salinity profiles as well as the grain types for each layer. The figures are named as: [ice_station]_snow_pit_[X]_figure.png.
