Metagenomic sequencing of meltwater virome from two Greenlandic glaciers for the VEO project, 2022

This metagenomic study characterizes the bacteriome and virome of meltwater from two Greenland ice sites, to identify potentially pathogenic microorganisms released by accelerating glacial melt and posing risks to human and animal health.
Library preparation for sequencing involved converting RNA to cDNA for RNA viruses metagenomic libraries were prepared using Twist Biosciences with Comprehensive Viral Research Panel. Sequencing was performed on Illumina NextSeq 2000 (NextSeq 1000/2000 P1 Reagent Cartridge) 2 X 150 bp.
