This is the complete dataset for the thesis "Therapeutic effects of live attenuated influenza virus-vectored vaccine against SARS-CoV-2 infection in lung epithelial cells".

Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) and Influenza A virus (IAV) are two of the major respiratory disease-inducing viruses that have caused global pandemic. The co-circulation of the two viruses is of concern for posing potential threat to public health. However, the characteristic of IAV triggering a robust and early innate immune response makes IAV-vectored virus particle a potential tool for therapeutic strategy against SARS-CoV-2 infection. This research study aimed to assess the efficacy of using live attenuated influenza virus vector-based COVID19 vaccine as a potential post-exposure prophylaxis, by the use of cell-based in vitro models involving human or mouse lung epithelial cells as well as immune cells.

All experiments involving live SARS-CoV-2 viruses were conducted following approved standard operative procedures in biosafety level 3 facility in the University of Hong Kong.
Detailed methodology can be found in the "Chapter 2. Materials and Methods" of the thesis.
