We used metagenomic assembly and binning methods to investigate the effects of different antibiotics on the microbial community assembly, particularly for the comammox and other microorganisms involved in nitrification in lab-scale activated sludge systems. The concentrations of each antibiotic were step-wise increased from 20 mg/L to a final level. We retrieved metagenome-assembled genomes (MAGs) from the control group and AS-treated by kanamycin, ampicillin, lincomycin, and trimethoprim. The main objective of this study is to investigate how comammox and other nitrifiers respond to the addition of these antibiotics.
