Cadmium (Cd) contamination in paddies seriously threatens the safe production of crops and human health. Using endophytes to improve plants Cd tolerance and regulate their Cd accumulation is a green, safe and efficient method. However, rice endophytic bacterial community response to different Cd stress and its role in Cd accumulation in rice grains are poorly understood. In this study, endophytic bacterial community in rice tissues (roots (R), stems (S), leaves (L) and seeds (Se)) at tillering (T), filling (F) and maturity (M) stages in Cd low concentration (LC), moderate concentration (MC) and high concentration (HC) sites were comprehensively analyzed by culture-independent methods.
