Dataset for "Analyzing Public Engagement with Pinniped Rescue Videos on YouTube: The Roles of Content Typology, Attention Decay, and Compassion Fatigue"

This dataset supports the study “Analyzing Public Engagement with Pinniped Rescue Videos on YouTube: The Roles of Content Typology, Attention Decay, and Compassion Fatigue”. It contains the coded metadata of 100 top-performing pinniped rescue videos on YouTube, including video titles, views, likes, comments, video duration, upload dates, fundraising-tag coding, content-category coding, daily views, like rate, comment rate, interaction rate, and comment-to-like ratio. The data were collected from publicly available YouTube video metadata on April 14, 2026. No private, sensitive, or personally identifiable data are included.
