Our study aimed to characterize the complete genome of seven E. coli isolates carrying the mcr-1 gene from fecal samples of a population of stray dogs from a shelter in Lima, Peru. Additionally, we aimed to characterize the resistome of this subset of isolates and to determine the AMR profiles of the total E. coli isolates.
