The lesion shows a neural differentiation (picture as in neurofibroma), with abundant blood vessels in the stroma and isolated nodules with melanocytic cells (HMB 45 (+), S-100 (+), CD 34 (-)). In the epidermis, there is also a component stimulated by marginal cognition.
The weaving of the neurofibroma extensively reaches the operating surface.
