These data support the publication: Cicchetti, F. and Johnson, C.L. Magnetization Signatures of Craters on Mercury. Submitted to Geophys. Res. Lett. For each of the 202 craters considered in the study, the file contains the following columns: FID: crater identification number, from Kinczyk et al., 2020. class: degradation class index, from Kinczyk et al., 2020. lon: longitude of the crater center in deg E (-180 to 180), from Kinczyk et al., 2020. lat: latitude of the crater center in deg N, from Kinczyk et al., 2020. radius: radius of the crater in km, from Kinczyk et al., 2020. mh_in: average magnetization-thickness product (Mh, in A) inside the crater (i.e., within 0.8 crater radii). std_in: standard deviation in magnetization-thickness product (Mh, in A) inside the crater (i.e., within 0.8 crater radii). n_in: number of dipole points inside the crater (i.e., within 0.8 crater radii). mh_out: average magnetization-thickness product (Mh, in A) outside the crater (i.e., between 1.5 and 2.0 crater radii). std_out: standard deviation in magnetization-thickness product (Mh, in A) outside the crater (i.e., between 1.5 and 2.0 crater radii). n_out: number of dipole points outside the crater (i.e., between 1.5 and 2.0 crater radii). r_mh: magnetization ratio. dr_mh: uncertainty on magnegtization ratio (from error propagation). unit_in: predominant geographic unit inside the crater (i.e., >80% of the points within 1.0 crater radii). Options are: icp (Inter-Crater Plains), sp (Smooth Plains), or unclassified. unit_out: predominant geographic unit inside the crater (i.e., >51% of the points between 1.0 and 2.0 crater radii). Options are: icp (Inter-Crater Plains), sp (Smooth Plains), or unclassified. unit: overall classification of the crater as pertaining to one geographic unit (unit_in and unit_out need to be the same for the crater to be classified). Options are: icp (Inter-Crater Plains), sp (Smooth Plains), or unclassified. mh_induced: plausible maximum magnetization-thickness product (Mh, in A) that can be induced at the crater's location in the present-day field of Mercury.
