In 2022, a large foodborne outbreak occurred in Japan. Enteropathogenic Escherichia coli O45:H15 (EPEC O45:H15) was identified as the etiological agent of the outbreak. We performed whole genome sequencing of the isolates that recovered from suffered patients, employees, and a suspective food sample, and compared their genomes.
