This study concerns a case report of a S. capitis resistant to linezolid isolated from the blood culture of an 18-year-old patient admitted to a hospital in central Italy.The resistome (in particular the resistance mechanism to linezolid) and clonal lineage of the S. capitis have been study by WGS.The finding of a LZD-R strain in this species represents a worrying addition to the antimicrobial resistance in our hospital and mandates stricter control over the use of linezolid to preserve its clinical utility.
