Monthly Aggregate Export and Import Trade Data for India (FY 1990–91 to FY 2024–25)

This dataset contains monthly aggregate export and import trade values for India covering the period from FY 1990–91 to FY 2024–25. The data are reported in USD billion and were compiled from official trade statistics available through Indiastat.com, which aggregates information from national sources including the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. The dataset was prepared for use in machine learning-based time series analysis and includes monthly observations of total exports and total imports. It has been made publicly available to support transparency, reproducibility, and further research in trade forecasting and interpretable machine learning applications. This dataset was used in the study titled “Feature Learning Behavior in Trade Forecasting: Evidence from Tree-Based Machine Learning Model.”
