Transcriptomic responses of Phanaeus vindex to temperature fluctuation

Dung beetles experience many different temperature conditions throughout their lives, yet we know little about how they respond to temperature fluctuations. Here we were interested in the transcriptomic responses to temperature fluctuation. In this experiment we gave dung beetles (Phanaeus vindex) three different acclimation conditions over a week period. They received either constant conditions (20 C), a relatively low fluctuation (+/- 6 degrees), or a relatively high fluctuation (+/- 15 degrees). Only female beetles were studied.
