Farm Wage Rates, Farm Employment, and Related Data

Excerpts: Three types of weighting are involved in securing the various average wage rates included in this publication. These are (1) the weighting of individual State rates to obtain geographic division and United States rates, (2) the weighting of class rates to derive a composite rate representing the four classes of payment combined -- per month with and without board and per day with and without board, and (3) the weighting of quarterly rates to obtain annual rates. The first three sections [of the report] include detailed wage rates and employment data. The last section, beginning on page 174, is devoted to broad comparisons of agricultural income, the farm wage bill, industrial wage rates, and related information.
