We investigated the impact of kettle holes on the functional and taxonomical community composition of carabids in adjacent crop fields. For that, we collected 77 carabid species in winter wheat fields in Spring and Summer at 1m and 8m distances to the vegetation edge and for incoming and outgoing movement direction with directional pitfall traps. We assigned each species an Ecological Preference, a Habitat Preference, and a Body Weight Class.
