Short read sequencing derived from rodent fecal pellets collected during field work in John Higgs Cay (British Overseas Territory of the Turks and Caicos Islands )

Raw reads derived from rodent fecal pellets collected during field work in John Higgs Cay (Turks and Caicos Islands) exploring potential signs of the Bahamian hutia (Geocapromys ingrahami). Pellets were extracted for DNA in the ancient DNA laboratory of the Natural History Museum (London, United Kingdom) using two extraction methods and double-stranded libraries were made. The resulting libraries were shotgun-sequenced on paired-end 75bp runs of an Illumina NextSeq 500.
