An analysis of DMPs for factors proposed to be associated with their efficacy as research tools

An analysis of data management plans (DMP) at an Australian institution. The 834 DMPs sampled were a random subset of those extracted from a population of 1986 on the University's DMP system in November 2017.DMPs were analysed across several criteria, including:- Detail and quality of information provided about physical and digital data storage.- Attitude/effort towards DMP completion and writing quality.- Data type clarity and findability.Of 834 DMPs sampled, 21 were excluded because they were identified as being test submissions. 813 were subsequently included in the analysis.Due to the impracticability of anonymising the raw data and institutional sensitivity, only the results of the analysis are available upon request.Detailed background, methods, results and discussion are provided in an associated manuscript.
