Colonic microbiota in ex-germ-free mice harboring fecal microbiota derived from conventional mice

Eight male Jcl:MCH(ICR) germ-free mice were orally inoculated with a dilution of feces obtained from conventional mice, and their colonic luminal contents were collected 4 weeks later. Fecal bacterial DNA was extracted, and the V1-V2 region of the bacterial 16S rRNA gene was amplified by PCR. Next-generation sequencing were performed using an Ion PGM system.
