Blood Culture Bottle Evaluation (Mini-Lab)

This database contains the data for the in vitro evaluation of blood culture bottles to be used in Médecins Sans Frontières' Mini-Lab project. This study was performed by the Institute of Tropical Medicine, Antwerp. Three bottle types were evaluated (two manual and one automated system): Bi-State bottles by Autobio, visually read BacT/ALERT bottles (bioMérieux) and the automated BacT/ALERT system (bioMérieux). Bottles were spiked with 177 different bacterial isolates corresponding to 20 common bloodstream pathogens. This database contains no patient information.
