Value of outstanding of loans to businesses in Canada H1 2018-H2 2022, by size

The value of outstanding loans to businesses in Canada mostly increased from the first half of 2018 to the second half of 2022. The main exception to that occurred in the second half of 2020, when the value of loans to large businesses (those with loan authorization levels of five billion Canadian dollars or more) decreased. Large businesses accounted for most of the business loans in Canada, amounting to around 839 billion Canadian dollars in the second half of that year.
