Reprogramming the spleen into a functioning “liver” in vivo III

We restored liver function in the spleen by direct reprogramming splenic fibroblasts in situ and thereby transformed the spleen into a “liver” with sufficient physiological functions within a living animal. The Gene Expression profiling of PBS-treated spleens (PBS) vs SiO2-remodelled spleens (SiO2), PBS as control; primary mouse SiO2-remodelled spleen fibroblasts (MF) vs hepatocyte-like cells (iHep) vs primary hepatocytes (PH), MF as control; SiO2-treated spleens (SiO2) vs SiO2-3TF-3C-treated spleen (hepatized spleens) vs normal liver tissues, SiO2 as control.Five cell/spleen samples were pooled according to individual groups.
