The history of domesticated tetraploid wheat has been studied extensively for many decades, yet key questions in the evolutionary history of this crop remain elusive. To elucidate the evolutionary trajectory of tetraploid wheat, we sequenced ancient tetraploid wheat samples excavated at different locations along the Judean desert and the Arava valley in Israel.
