Raw data supporting "Comparative metabolic profile of mice fed a grain-based controlled diet and a purified controlled diet"

This dataset contains the raw metabolic data generated for the study “Comparative metabolic profile of mice fed a grain-based controlled diet and a purified controlled diet”. The objective of the study was to evaluate whether commonly used control diets differing in composition (grain-based versus purified diets) influence metabolic outcomes in mice under normocaloric conditions. Male C57BL/6 mice (7 weeks old at baseline) were fed either a grain-based control diet or a purified control diet for a period of 12 weeks. Throughout the experimental protocol, body mass was monitored, and body composition was assessed. At the end of the intervention, fasting blood glucose levels, oral glucose tolerance, and plasma lipid parameters were measured. The dataset includes raw individual-level measurements for body mass, body composition, fasting glycemia, oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT), and plasma lipid profile, including triglycerides, total cholesterol, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), and very low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (VLDL-C). No data normalization or transformation was applied to the files provided. These data support analyses comparing metabolic outcomes between grain-based and purified control diets and may be reused for secondary analyses, methodological comparisons, meta-analyses, or studies addressing diet standardization in preclinical metabolic research. The data are shared to promote transparency, reproducibility, and reuse in experimental physiology and metabolic research.
