Users can find data related to practices, structure, and planning for state and regional health agencies, state officials’ involvement in health care reform, budget changes in state and local public health offices, and how state agencies are addressing minority health disparities. Background The Association for State and Territorial Health Offices (ASTHO) is a nonprofit organization representing public health agencies and public health employees in the United States. The ASTHO collects data from public health departments in the United States related to how their organization functions, what programs they offer, their budget etc. User functionality Users can request access to data by filling out a form located on the website. Data availabl e include the 2010 profile survey which is the second survey in a longitudinal series about state/territorial health agency responsibilities, structure, planning and quality improvement activities, workforce, and more that provides core data for ongoing public health systems research and a source for tracking state public health performance and best practices. The 2007 Profile survey offers information about the scope of state public health services and variations in practice among state public health agencies. The Health Reform Survey involves data regarding the degree and type of involvement health departments have in health care reform. The Budget Cuts Survey has data related to job losses and program cuts from 2007-2010. The Minority Health Survey collects information about ways in which different health departments address racial and ethnic health disparities. Data Notes Information regarding the questionnaires used to collect the data and the number of respondents is available for each data set without requesting access to the data itself.
