The file contains numbers of fire detections and areas for 3964 tropical and subtropical reserves. Evaluated by examining reserve polygons on country-level maps for PRP_WETFRST>0.9, AREAGIS1 > 5000, and CNTRY_NAME$<>’China’. 39 = identifies the five largest islands for Indonesia, Borneo for Malaysia, and Okinawa for Japan. The value ‘island’ identifies smaller Indonesian islands. The value ‘volcano’ identifies reserves with an active volcano that triggered MODIS fire detections. The value ‘city’ identifies one Philippine reserve presumably mistakenly located in a city.
