We describe a family cluster of four patients with respiratory illness caused by avian C. abortus.Genomic DNA was prepared for sequencing on the Illumina MiSeq PE150 platform using DNA prep Illumina, San Diego, CA, USA according to the manufacturer s protocol. Illumina reads were adapted and quality trimmed using BBDuk. Genomic DNA was also used for long read sequencing with Oxford Nanopore to generate a fully closed genome
