New SAR11 isolate genomes from the tropical Pacific Ocean

This collection of SAR11 strains was isolated from surface seawater of the tropical Pacific Ocean, collected from the vicinity of Kaneohe Bay, Oahu, Hawaii. While SAR11 cells are found throughout the global ocean, there remains a lack of genome-sequenced isolates. These strains represent a diverse array of abundant natural populations of SAR11, providing new insight into the complex dynamics of SAR11 in nature.
