ISS ESG provides financial market participants, governments and universities with carbon and climate data, ratings, analytics, and advisory services.
Climate change is among the top issues for investors globally. The financial sector has demonstrated an unprecedented commitment to climate leadership by taking prominent roles in international climate initiatives such as the Montreal Carbon Pledge, the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), and the Paris Climate Agreement.
The climate core data set includes factors for Total Emissions (Scope 1 + 2), Direct Emissions (Scope 1), Energy Indirect Emissions (Scope 2), and Other Indirect Emissions (Scope 3). Reported emissions have gone through a rigorous quality checking process, and estimated emissions have been calculated using ISS ESG's proprietary methodology.
