As of February 2023, the teaser of "Spider-Man: No Way Home" (2021) remained the most-watched movie trailer within 24 hours of release in history, with more than 355 million views. The teaser of "Thor: Love and Thunder" was launched in April 2022 and made it to the top 10 with 209 million views – the film was set to premiere three months later. Six of the 10 titles displayed are based on Marvel Comics' stories. How important are trailers for publicizing a film?To release a movie trailer online is a recurring means of introducing an upcoming production to a broad audience. In the second quarter of 2022, TV commercials and social media were among the most common ways of discovering new films in the United States and Canada, mentioned by 49.9 and 33.1 percent of the adults surveyed, respectively. A leading player in the market, the Walt Disney Company expanded its advertising expense continuously since 2018.
