Peromyscus leucopus Genome sequencing

This genome assembly (HiRise v1.0) of the white-footed mouse (Peromyscus leucopus) was generated by the Mice Against Ticks project using Illumina sequencing combined with Meraculous assembly and HiRise scaffolding. P. leucopus is a key reservoir host for Borrelia burgdorferi, the causative agent of Lyme disease. This assembly provides a valuable reference for studies in wildlife disease ecology, host-pathogen interactions, and genome engineering in wild rodent populations.
