Fractional snow cover (FSC) is the ratio of the snow cover area (SCA) within a single pixel to the total area of that pixel. This dataset was developed using the BV-BLRM linear regression empirical model for fractional snow cover. The source data utilized are the MOD09GA 500 m global daily surface reflectance product and the MOD09A1 500 m 8-day composite global surface reflectance product. The dataset was produced on the Google Earth Engine platform. It has a global coverage, with a temporal range from 2000 to 2021, a spatial resolution of 500 meters, and an annual temporal resolution. This dataset can provide quantitative snow distribution information for regional climate simulation, hydrological modeling and other related research fields.
