Assessing the immune profile of primary tumours upon combination of Anakinra with Doxorubicin+Zoledronic acid for the treatment of breast cancer bone metastasis in vivo

Genetic profile of immune cells was characterised in primary breast tumours upon treatment with Anakinra, Dox+Zol, Anakinra+Dox+Zol A syngeneic orthotopic model was used to study spontaneous breast cancer metastasis to bone. Mouse mammary tumour cells were injected into 6-8 week-old C57BL/6J female mice via intra-ductal injection. Mice were randomised after tumour cell injection to Placebo (P), Anakinra (A), Doxorubicin and Zoledronic Acid (Dox and Zol) and Anakinra in combination with Dox and Zol (ADZ). RNA was isolated from primary tumours and the immune profile assessed using the NanoString nCounter™ panCancer Immune profiling panel (NanoString Technologies).
