Transcriptome analysis of sweet and sour pomegranate cultivars

The metabolism mechanism of sugar and acid is not obvious in sweet and sour pomegranate cultivars. Therefore, the sweet and sour cultivar were analyzed with transcriptome technique during different development stages in the study. The candidate genes involved in the sugar acid biosynthesis were identified, which expression level was analyzed by quantitative RT-PCR. The metabolites content of sugar and acid metabolism were determined. These results provide theoretical foundation for revealing the mechanism of sugar and acid metabolism in pomegranate fruit.
