Metagenomic study of water , sediments and soil samples of Puga geothermal geyser

Puga geothermal geyser and surrounding area, located in the Himalayan Geothermal Belt of the Trans-Himalayan Plateau in Ladakh, India, are very isolated geographically and considered pristine and free of anthropogenic activities. High-throughput sequencing techniques have never been used to analyze the microbial communities and diversity present in this area, particularly those associated with geothermal geysers. In this study, we conducted the first metagenomics analysis of the microorganisms found in and around the Puga geothermal geyser.
