资源简介:
The motivation of this study was to characterize soil physical and chemical properties in Arctic tundra. The research was conducted in 2021 at two tundra hillslopes (acidic and non-acidic tundra) near Toolik Lake. Each study hillslope had three sites delineated across soil moisture conditions (dry, mesic, and wet), with three replicate 5 x 5 meter (m) plots at each site. Soil cores were collected to approximately 20 cm depth in each site periodically throughout the 2021 thaw season. Soil moisture (gravimetric moisture) and bulk density were determined along with other soil properties (determined by University of Georgia Agricultural & Environmental Services Laboratories), including soil pH, Carbon (C) and Nitrogen (N) content, Mehlich-I nutrients, and the soil texture of mineral horizons.
