Tick INsiders

The goal of the Tick INsiders project is to improve the detection, diagnosis and treatment of tick-borne diseases in Indiana. This goal is accomplished through the identification of the microbes carried by three major tick vectors (Ixodes scapularis, Dermacentor variabilis, and Amblyomma americanum) collected in Indiana. The information gathered is then used for the creation of a tick-borne diseases risk map for the State of Indiana and the development of educational material for public health specialists.
