In this study, TaNRX1 overexpression (OE) and RNA interference (RNAi) transgenic wheat plants were subjected to drought stress treatment to elucidate the drought resistance mechanism of TaNRX1. This study identified an excellent candidate gene TaNRX1 for producing drought-resistance wheat plants and is of great significance for the selection and promotion of drought-resistant wheat varieties, improvements in wheat yield, and advances in food security.
