This dataset covers socio-economic indicator data for the areas where 49 candidate national park sites in China (excluding tropical marine national parks) are located, taking county-level administrative divisions as the statistical unit. It includes 16 socio-economic indicators: energy consumption per unit of GDP, cultivated land area, forest area, total county sewage treatment volume, green coverage area, per capita GDP, total retail sales of social consumer goods, per capita disposable income of residents, per capita deposit balance at the end of the year, the proportion of the primary, secondary and tertiary industries in GDP, number of enrolled students in regular middle schools, number of enrolled students in primary schools, number of beds in medical and health institutions, and per capita expenditure on social security and employment.
