Evaluation of nine presented coin designs for the new currency. Topics: knowledge about the selection of Euro bank notes already made; approval of the survey to evaluate the coins; extent of daily private and occupational dealing with money; selection and judgement on the two most preferred coin series from the nine coin series presented to the respondent; stressing positive or negative characteristics of the coin designs; judgement on the representation of the coins for the European Union and judgement on the preferred coins in the dimensions popular, multi-faceted, modern, open, artistic quality and good recognizability; possible points of criticism of these coin designs even among people supporting the Euro; rank order and judgement on the remaining seven coin series; coin series whose designs did not seem appropriate and reasons for this aversion; preferred point in time of introduction of the Euro coins. Demography: sex; year of birth; school degree; age at conclusion of school or university education; occupational status; marital status; nationality; region; degree of urbanization.
