Longleaf Pine Occurrences

<div style='text-align:Left;'><div><div><p><span>The current dataset represents a subset of polygons in the LPEGDB v.4 that are confirmed longleaf sites with ecological condition data from multiple sources that has been crosswalked into three management levels described in the Range-wide Conservation Plan for Longleaf Pine (America’s Longleaf 2010): acres to maintain, acres to improve, and acres to restore. To the degree possible this crosswalk follows criteria in the Longleaf Pine Maintenance Condition Class Definitions published by America’s Longleaf Restoration Initiative (ALRI) in October 2014. These definitions are the standard adopted by ALRI and are expected to help guide implementation of the Range-wide Conservation Plan for Longleaf Pine (ALRI 2009). Where ALRI criteria did not cover all attributes a combination of other schemes was used including FNAI Reference Natural Community desired condition ranges, 2011 draft criteria from the Longleaf Measures Work Group (LMWG), 2016 Southern Open Pine Metrics (Nordman and White 2016), ALRI Longleaf PIne Maintenance Condition Class Definitions, and expert knowledge.
