This dataset includes the metagenome-assembled genomes created for benchmarking of strain-level analysis at different shotgun sequencing depths. Complex mixtures of DNA from up to 70 cultured bacteria in different distributions were sequenced at up to 11 sequencing depths (0.1–50.0 Gb). For assembly of the contigs from short reads either MEGAHIT or metaSPAdes were used. The study includes short and long reads, as well a two different binning approaches.
