Colitis is a painful inflammation of the colon. In this project, we use dietary fiber to fight colitis. Alginate a dietary fiber from seaweed alleviate DSS-induced acute colitis in mouse model. To study the mechanism behind this, 16S rDNA is sequenced to reveal the remodeling of gut microbiota by alginate.
