ADL Piano MIDI is a dataset consisting of 11,086 piano pieces of various types. This dataset is based on the Lakh MIDI Dataset, which contains 45,129 unique MIDI files matched to entries in the Million Song Dataset. Most works in the Lakh MIDI Dataset have multiple instruments, so the authors of the ADL Piano MIDI dataset only extracted tracks labeled as "Piano Series" instruments (MIDI program numbers 1-8) for each file. This process generated a total of 9,021 unique piano MIDI files. These 9,021 files were then combined with approximately 2,065 additional files scraped from publicly available resources on the Internet. All files in the final collection were deduplicated based on their MD5 checksums. Source: ADL Piano MIDI
