A review of past exploration suggests that the area is quite prospective for structurally controlled copper mineralisation as well as stratiform zinc-lead deposits.
The central block appears more prospective for fault related copper mineralisation. It is located along strike from the Kingfisher copper prospect and has undergone the least past work. Stream sediment and rock chip sampling together with geological mapping is planned to evaluate the potential for locating further copper mineralisation.
A very large Geotem EM anomaly (U024) identified by BHP potentially represents stratiform lead-zinc mineralisation. The response is partly contained within the current tenure (western block). A single drill hole intersected a thick pyritic, carbonaceous sequence. It is planned to acquire the BHP data to ascertain whether the U24 anomaly has been sufficiently tested. The data should also be re-assessed to confirm that there are no other responses worthy of follow up within the EPM.
