Vitis labrusca & Vitis vinifera Transcriptomic Response to Japanese Beetle Herbivory

Vitis labrusca acc. 'GREM4' and Vitis vinifera cv. 'PN40024' grapevine were subjected to Japanese beetle herbivory for 0h (control), 30min, 1h, and 4h of herbivory in a greenhouse setting and the transcriptomic response was recorded. Leaves directly fed upon by beetles (herbivory) and leaves attached to the same cane as those leaves experiencing herbivory (but that were not directly experiencing herbivory themselves) were also collected (systemic) for all time points. 0h leaves were collected from a separate plant to avoid confounding the transcriptomic response.
