资源简介:
This is a turbulence dataset collected from conductivity, temperature, and depth (CTD)-chipods, a turbulence package mounted on the CTD rosette during a Joint Ice Ocean Study cruise in 2014. The CTD stations spanned 15 casts north of Alaska, USA in the Canada Basin. Data are processed using a MATLAB software developed by the Ocean Mixing Group at Oregon State University to clean wake contamination and produce turbulence estimates. Data provided include the dissipation of temperature variance (chi) and the eddy diffusivity of temperature (Kt). Quantities are provided on a 2-meter (m) grid on the descent and ascent of the rosette. These turbulence data are meant to help diagnose and quantify heat exchanges between water masses in the subsurface and with the atmosphere.
