Ship-mounted ADCP dataset of scientific investigation over the South China Sea (2009 – 2012)

The longitude and latitude, observation layer, East component, North component, current velocity, flow direction and probe temperature data were collected by using ship-mounted Ocean Surveyor 38kHz (OS38) and Vessel-Mounted 300kHz (VM300) Acoustic Doppler Current Profilers (ADCP) during the four cruises of Scientific investigation over the South China Sea from 2009 to 2012. The observation data is exported by WinADCP software of ADCP, and the data sets is formed by quality control means such as system error correction and routine test. The dataset provides basic information for marine theory research, tropical marine environment research, marine resources development and utilization, and other industries.

本数据集收录了2009年至2012年间，在南中国海进行的四次科学考察巡航期间，利用船载Ocean Surveyor 38kHz（OS38）和船载300kHz（VM300）声学多普勒流速剖面仪（ADCP）收集的经度、纬度、观测层、东西分量、南北分量、流速、流向以及探头温度数据。数据通过ADCP的WinADCP软件导出，并经过系统误差校正及常规测试等质量控制手段形成。该数据集为海洋理论、热带海洋环境、海洋资源开发与利用等领域的科学研究提供了基础信息。
