Declassified transcripts from Norway's Extended Foreign Affairs Committee 1924–1992

This archive contains structured data from the records of 644 meetings in the Extended Foreign Affairs Committee of the Norwegian Parliament from 1924 to 1992. The corpus contains approximately 6.3 million words across more than 28,000 speaker-segmented remarks as well as attendance data for over 1,000 individuals who participated in the meetings. Status The accompanying data descriptor manuscript is in preparation and has not yet been peer reviewed. Files remarks.csv (28,648 rows): speaker-segmented remarks attendees.csv (17,045 rows): attendance events persons.csv (1,020 rows): person-level metadata documents.csv (646 rows): source document metadata and extracted transcript text README.md: dataset overview and citation guidance CODEBOOK.md: variable definitions and coding conventions Structure and conventions meeting_id links documents.csv, remarks.csv, and attendees.csv; person_id links remarks.csv and attendees.csv to persons.csv. Missing values are encoded as empty cells and, in some columns, as NA. chairman and spoke are binary (0/1); lang in remarks.csv is nb (Bokmål) or nn (Nynorsk). Primary sources Data were extracted from PDFs published by the Norwegian Parliament (Stortinget). Source PDFs may be deposited separately in a linked Zenodo record.
