On 19th March 2022, the island of Sāo Jorge experienced high levels of seismicity, more than 29,000 M2-3.3 events were recorded in a short period of time. This seismic swarm is the reason for the deployment of 10 SEIS-UK Pegasus seismometers spanning over four islands (Terceira, Sāo Jorge, Faial, Pico) over five months.
